The UK is filled with ridiculously beautiful beaches, but there's one stretch of sandy shores that never fails to top rankings. Woolacombe Bay in Devon is often tipped as the UK's most beautiful beach thanks to its golden sands, beautiful coastal surroundings, and swim-friendly clear waters.
The holiday hotspot is even on our list of the UK's prettiest beaches that rival the Caribbean, and now travel experts have also compared it to another beach holiday haven, in Australia.
The team at Verdant Leisure know a thing or two about dreamy destinations, and while Bondi Beach in Australia is firmly on that list, it's hardly the most budget-friendly option for Brits. Luckily, according to the experts, Woolacombe Bay is the UK's equivalent to the Aussie beach.

The 3-mile sandy beach, surrounded by rugged cliffs and sand dunes, is a popular spot amongst holiday-goers and surfers alike. While the UK can’t promise warm sea water all year round, it can promise unrivalled areas of natural beauty such as Woolacombe beach."
Bondi Beach in Sydney has long been a firm hit with surfers and beachgoers from around the world. With gorgeous soft sands, inviting blue waters and heaps of beautiful walks in the region, it regularly appears in rankings of the world's most beautiful beaches.

One happy visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: "With its white sand, accessibility, excellent amenities and cafes for visitors this stunning beach ticks all the boxes, for visitors and locals alike."

Meanwhile in the UK, Woolacombe Beach is also regularly receiving praise from tourists and locals alike. One tourist wrote: "Absolutely beautiful beach, clear blue sea - stunning! Yes you have to pay for parking, but it’s worth every penny. The carpark staff were helpful and friendly, the beach was beautiful and so clean! The toilets next to the beach were very clean and still had toilet rolls at the end of the day! The kiosks on the beach were easy to get to and reasonably priced with happy staff. We will be back!"
Another added: "Visited on multiple occasions over the winter months as had accommodation nearby. The beach is one of 3 wonderful beaches in the area. The others are Croyde and Saunton. Woolacombe is the most developed in terms of car parks and restaurants/cafes as well as surf shops behind the beach but all have amazing flat sands.
"There is a beach cafe at the entrance which ain't great tbh but you can walk down from raised cliffs adjacent to the beaches looking over rocky inlets. It's a life-affirming place to be at any time of year and I cannot recommend it highly enough."
If you're tempted to check it out for yourself, there are plenty of budget-friendly stays available in the area. For a start there's Woolacombe Holiday Park which sits at the top of the bay and is about a half hour's walk down to the main beach. Hoseasons and Parkdean Resorts also have locations while Verdant Leisure, which made the Australia comparison, has a holiday park in North Devon.
