EastEnders fans beg for 'missing' flashback scene that gives away vital answer
EastEnders fans have begged for more flashback scenes amid Cindy Beale's return as they're still left with questions.
Cindy - played by Michelle Collins - made her big return to Walford this week alongside her partner Ian Beale and son Peter Beale, and it was finally revealed what had happened to her when she ran out on George Knight and their kids Anna and Gina.
She had rushed back to Walford on hearing the news of Lucy's death, before her witness protection officer caught up with her and warned she wouldn't be able to go home to them or she'd risk their safety.
However, some viewers have been left wanting more from the flashback scenes, insisting we need to know what happened between Cindy and Ian, and how she ended up back with him. Fans are keen to see how he reacted to the news she's very much alive.
Viewers found out what happened between Cindy and George this week (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron/Matt Burlem)Taking to Reddit, one fan penned: "So much regarding Cindy that hasn't been explained. We need a flashback where we see Ian discovering that Cindy is alive. What was Ian's reaction to discovering that Cindy was alive all on along. It just skipped all of that. It never even explained how Cindy got in touch with Ian in the first place. Wasn't he on the run from Phil and Sharon at the time? how would Cindy have know where to find him? Peter as well?"

Some viewers agreed, with others divided on whether we'd ever get to see what happened. One fan shared: "There’s still time for this, people have been questioning Ian about Cindy. Let the whole Rose George situation play out first," whilst another added: "I was just thinking this today. What happened between Cindy leaving George and connecting with Ian. A whole nine years to explain."
"Also where Ian went in between leaving Walford and reconnecting Cindy," a third wrote, whilst other fans disagreed. One shared: "I feel like 10 years ago you would of got either an online or a red button series showing Cindy’s story away from the square, definitely feel like there’s a missed opportunity there to do a little spin off."
Another wrote: "I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling that’s something they’ll just brush over…" whilst a fellow fan wasn't hopeful about seeing those scenes, sharing: "They're definitely going to ignore this."
