Tottenham 'barred' Harry Kane from club by email ahead of Bayern transfer

Harry Kane was barred from Tottenham 's training ground hours before he completed his £100m switch to Bayern Munich.

The forward was the subject of a summer-long transfer saga that eventually ended with him heading to the German giants. Kane was told by the club, via an email, that it would not be appropriate for him to return to the training ground as the final aspects of his move were completed.

It means Tottenham's record goalscorer, who came through the ranks in north London, was unable to say face-to-face goodbyes to any of his team-mates or staff members whilst he was also blocked from picking up any of his personal possessions himself as they were instead they were sent on to him.

The Premier League club, who were hopeful Kane would yet sign a new deal, maintain that he is welcome back but his treatment may not go down well with the fanbase, many of whom held no ill feeling following his exit with the player having a mural painted in his honour opposite the stadium.

Whilst he waited to fly to Munich, with the deal for a short period appearing to be in jeopardy, Kane himself stated that he wanted to return to training for Tottenham's opener, but didn't have his wish granted. Spurs players have since received phone calls from the now Bayern man, reports the Telegraph.

Kane made his feelings known after the move was completed: "Hi everyone, I wanted to be the first to tell you Tottenham fans that I will be leaving the club today. Obviously a lot of emotions going through me right now, sad to be leaving the club I’ve spent nearly 20 years of my life at from an 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man.

"Hard to put into words how to say goodbye to a club and fans who have done so much for me in my career. You will always be in my heart. Thank you Tottenham, thank you Tottenham fans."

Kane has begun life at the Allianz Arena in impressive fashion, scoring three times in three outings, including a brace in last weekend's win over Augsburg. Bayern have dominated the Bundesliga for the past decade and their capture of the Englishman has marked them out as major Champions League contenders.

“Scoring goals is the main reason I’m here and it’s great to get a couple today,” said Kane in a post-match TV interview. “I had another chance I could have scored but, overall, I am delighted with the result and to have contributed as well.”
