Man Utd star Antony urged to take notes from two Premier League wingers
Alan Brazil has urged Antony to learn from Anthony Gordon and Kaoru Mitoma if he is to fulfil his potential in a Manchester United shirt.
The Brazilian has failed to register a goal or an assist in the Premier League this season but produced an improved performance in United's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday. In fact, Antony has notched just 10 goals and five assists in 50 matches in all competitions since his £82million move from Ajax last summer.
And talkSPORT presenter Brazil has suggested Antony to take notes from Newcastle star Gordon and Brighton talent Mitoma to help discover his best form. Gordon particularly impressed over the weekend as he scored in Newcastle's 2-1 defeat against Liverpool and shone throughout. He now has two goals in his last four appearances for the Toon.
"Do you see the way Gordon attacks full-backs - and the boy (Mitoma) from Brighton," Brazil said. "That is what you've got to do, you've got to mix it up, go inside and outside. You've got to attack them with pace and speed, he doesn't do it."
Meanwhile, Gabriel Agbonlahor joined in with the debate and agreed with Brazil's assessment. "That is what Gordon does. There was one in the second half where first half he kept going on the outside," the ex-Aston Villa forward said. "This time, he kept going with close, fast dribbling.

"He went right inside past Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and got a cross in. Antony doesn't do that but he did have a better game on the weekend."

Rio Ferdinand had his say on Antony's form earlier in the week and admitted he has concerns about whether the 23-year-old has the capabilities to become a complete Premier League forward. Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said of Antony's wing play: "He's getting the ball 1v1 so many times in the game and as a fan you're thinking: 'Beat him, man'.
"He did it once this weekend where he took it on his right foot on the outside and crossed it and created a chance, and I was thinking: 'So you can do it'. I want to see it more."
Ferdinand added: "The power, I don't see it, I don’t think he has the power in his body at the moment so I'd like to think he's working on his power, his explosiveness; I think if he can add that to his game we will see him improve again. I want output, I want chances created, I want the full-backs coming off the pitch hurting."
