Of all the people you don't want to upset, your neighbours probably rank pretty high on the list. Take for instance an apartment dweller who goes out of their way to annoy their neighbour after they felt slighted by the resident. It's a prime example of why you shouldn't risk the wrath of your neighbours, as they can make your life very difficult.

The cheeky neighbour was angered after their parking spot neighbour didn't hold the elevator door for them. So the driver concocted a revenge plot some have labelled the "pettiest" ever. Bragging about their behaviour in a post to Reddit, the neighbour claimed: "I live in an apartment building, and there's one elevator for the apartments in our part of the building.

"One time I was parking up as people in the apartment next to me were and they got to the elevator before me. They saw me walk towards the door as they were getting in and there is maybe a 10 metre distance between our parking spot and the elevator. I could literally see them in the elevator as the door closed.

"We park on the third basement level and there's five above ground floors. Now everytime I see them park up, I rush to the elevator before they can get in and make sure that the elevator stops at every floor above me and then below me before it gets back down to them. I also make sure to park as close to the line dividing us as possible."

In response, one commenter praised: "Love this petty revenge." A second revealed: "I do the exact same thing to the neighbours who did me dirty," and another added: "Wow! You sure can hold a grudge!" But others reprimanded the neighbour, pointing out there are several reasons why people don't like to share lifts.

"Maybe they wanted to ride the elevator alone. Maybe they were sick. Maybe they didn't see you. Maybe they were in a rush. Maybe they don't like you. Maybe it's time to let it go," read one such reply. "I'm not holding the door for you 10 meters out. Get over yourself," said a second.
