Big Brother icon makes plea to show's bosses ahead of ITV reboot
A Big Brother legend has begged ITV to make a major change to the show ahead of its eagerly-awaited reboot later this year.
Nadia Almada, 46, who was the programme's first ever transgender contestant, won Big Brother in 2004. She, like the rest of her housemates, had no Instagram followers before going on the show and reckons there's a danger bosses are only going to pick people for the new series who have a sizeable following online.
Speaking ahead of the revamped show, which is rumoured to kick off in October and will be hosted by Strictly Come Dancing star, AJ Odudu, she said: “It's almost like you have to have a social media presence to be considered. You need to create an audience and that will compel the producers of the show to bring you in. It’s a little bit different, as in those days, I guess there was none of that.

It's a very different time. I do still hope with the reboot, they’ll be one or two people who are just true and oblivious to most of this effect that exists within our social media platforms," reports The Sun.
Despite being one of the most iconic Big Brother winners of all time, Nadia was forced to step back from the spotlight, spending the last 10 years as a hairdresser. However, the fan favourite says she's now ready to return to TV in reality shows, including I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here. She has also set up an OnlyFans account, but is yet to post on the x-rated content site – teasing she may be willing to share some snaps of her feet – for the right price. Opening up about her plans for OnlyFans, she told The Sun: "I wouldn't go fully nude, but I would shower in my heels on there, as that's what everyone remembers me for and of course I still do that!"

Nadia captured the nation's hearts in 2004, when she was declared the worthy winner of the fifth series of Big Brother on Channel 4. She didn't reveal her transgender identity to her fellow housemates during her 71 days in the famous house before she won the £63,500 cash prize, thanks to securing a whopping 74% of the overall final public vote.
However, despite being so popular with the public, the Portuguese star said while she did get work and make money after the show, she didn't have the same opportunities as some of her housemates because she was a trans woman.
