Jena Sims, the wife of golf star Brooks Koepka, has provided a cryptic clue about her husband’s potential involvement in the Ryder Cup.

Koepha was one of a number of players who left the PGA Tour to sign up for LIV Golf which is backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia. He was joined by the likes of Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood.

There has been an ongoing feud between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf ever since last year when some of golf’s biggest names left to move to the Saudi-funded breakaway league. Other players such as Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth remained on the PGA Tour.

With Koepka one of the players to leave the PGA Tour, there has been speculation over whether or not he and others who signed up for LIV Golf would be able to take part in the Ryder Cup. The tournament takes place at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Italy from September 29 to October 1.

Sims posted a photo on her Instagram page that may have offered a clue about Koepka’s involvement in the tournament. The photo simply featured her husband eating a slice of pizza, but there were a couple of captions as well.

Koepka was eating a slice of pizza on a paper plate that featured the American flag. Sims then included the caption “Foreshadowing?” following three Italy flag emojis and two laughing face emojis.

Sims did not stop there, with another caption at the bottom of the photo saying “IYKYK” which means “if you know you know”, followed by a golfer emoji and a wink face emoji.

Koepka will not be able to automatically qualify for Team USA’s team in this year’s Ryder Cup. He dropped out of the top six qualifying places, and will need a captain’s wild card pick in order to be part of the team.

LIV Golf events do not qualify towards the qualifying process for the Ryder Cup. Koepka earned plenty of points from winning the PGA Championship and finishing runner-up to Jon Rahm at the Masters, but dropped out of the top six after the BMW Championship earlier this month.

Team USA captain Zach Johnson will still have the option of picking Johnson for the Ryder Cup should he wish. Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa and Xander Schaffele have all qualified for the US for this year’s tournament.

Koepka is seventh and will need a captain’s pick to qualify. The same applies to other of the US’s biggest stars including Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Cameron Young.
