Lionel Messi's wife looked like she mistook him for Jordi Alba after Inter Miami's win on Saturday night.

Messi and his partner, Antonela Roccuzzo, have now been together for 15 years, with her coming onto the pitch to congratulate the number 10 but when going over, accidentally mistook him for the Spanish left-back.

The two quickly laughed it off, knowing each other from Messi's time with Barcelona where Alba had spent the majority of his career before they became teammates again in Miami this summer. The amusing incident was caught on camera by a fan in the stands and soon appeared on social media.

Inter Miami remain unbeaten with Messi on the team, as he made his MLS debut in their win over the New York Red Bulls, with the Argentine scoring in the 89th minute to kill off the game.

Messi and Roccuzzo first met when they were nine years old, back in Messi's hometown of Rosario as they became close, before the former moved to Barcelona to begin his career - with them rekindling seven years later.

The family have settled in quickly to life in Miami, reportedly owning two homes in south Florida, with Messi performing excellently on the field. He has already scored 11 goals since joining the club including his first in the MLS to wrap up victory over the New York Red Bulls.

Messi, along with Sergio Busquets and Alba led the team to win the first-ever Leagues Cup in the MLS in-season break, with the team now looking to climb up the table after being at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

The team must now go on a winning run if they are to make the playoffs though, currently sitting at 14th and 11 points off the nine spot they need to extend their season.

With the MLS break now over, Inter Miami have a busy schedule coming up in MLS in the next few weeks, with Nashville SC as their next opponent on Wednesday evening at the DRV PNK Stadium.

They will then make the long flight across to the West Coast, where they will face Los Angeles FC on Sunday, September 3.
