One Manchester City fan was bundled out of Brammall Lane by security after running on to the pitch to celebrate with Erling Haaland after the Norwegian scored.

The City supporter managed to leap on to the talismanic striker, who didn't seem to bothered about the fact the fan had evaded stewards to get on to the pitch. The fan latched on to Haaland's back and embrace the goalscorer from behind.

Replays showed that the fan seemed to even kiss the striker on the neck before security could reach him. Once they did, he was swiftly removed from the field of play and Haaland continued to celebrate with his team-mates.

The moment was just one of many notable incidents for the striker during City's clash against Sheffield United. Earlier on, in the first half, Haaland was guilty of missing a penalty, with his effort from 12 yards striking the the upright before eventually being cleared by the Blades defence.

Before he got his customary goal, Haaland also missed a number of chances, with Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham thwarting the Norway international on a number of occasions. As so many defences have found out, keeping the City No. 9 off the scoresheet is a very difficult task.

His headed goal was briefly cancelled out by Jayden Bogle, but the Blades could not stay level for long. City midfielder Rodri fired home an absolutely thunderous strike, arrowing a left-footed effort into the top corner, leaving Foderingham rooted to the spot.

Despite the late drama, much of the post-match discourse was centred around the fan who managed to get to Haaland first and celebrate. One viewer watching took to twitter to write: "That fan caught Haaland by surprise!"

Another noted: "We're lucky Haaland is a unit, if it was Bernardo he'd be paralysed."

One fan opted to look at the situation from the perspective of the fan and insisted the incident is one the supporter won't be forgetting any time soon, as they declared: "That must have been a memorable moment for him."

City's 3-1 ensures that they are only team in the Premier League that still boast a 100 per-cent record three games into the new season, with this latest victory coming after wins over Burnley and Newcastle respectively.
