The US Open sees the world's best tennis stars gathering in New York City for two weeks of scintillating action in tennis' final grand slam tournament of the year.

Both the men's and women's tournaments are high-stakes, with up to $3,000,000 (£2.35m) on offer to the winner, making it one of the most prestigious tournaments on the calendar. The defending champions from 2022, Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz are both in the hunt to defend their respective titles but will face stern competition.

Having beaten Alcaraz at the Cincinnati Masters in August, Novak Djokovic is the favourite to lift the men's title, with him and the Spaniard having formed a rivalry at the summit of the sport in the wake of their thrilling Wimbledon final matchup.

Home hopes lie mainly in the women's competition, with Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff both seeded in the top eight for the tournament. They will be hoping to carry the flag alongside Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, who will hold the main US hopes in the men's draw.

There are some absences from the draw, with Nick Kyrgios absent from the tournament alongside Rafael Nadal. Meanwhile, 2021 champion Emma Raducanu misses out through injury as well.
