Celebrity MasterChef star details cooking woes and fire disasters in kitchen
Celebrity MasterChef’s Dianne Buswell has confessed she is a fire risk in the kitchen and once set Yorkshire puddings alight.
The Strictly dancer, 34, eliminated from the BBC cooking contest this week, said her partner Joe Sugg, 31, feared she would wreck their £3.5million mansion near Brighton which they moved into last month. She said: “We moved in and my partner Joe is forever like, ‘Dianne, open the kitchen door when you’re cooking!’
“It’s been about four or five times now that I’ve set the alarm off. I just forget that there are onions on the stove. I get distracted quite easily.” And on burning Yorkshires one Christmas, she revealed: “When we were at my mum’s house for Christmas, I was like, ‘We have to have Yorkshire pudding’, because it’s not an Australian thing at all.
Dianne failed to impress on Celebrity MasterChef (Handout)“I literally put oil in the bottom of each thing and then put the pastry bit in the middle and the oven caught on fire. I swore I would never ever make those again. I was literally a fire starter!” Ironically, her brother is a professional pastry chef while her mum used to have her own deli and her dad was a butcher
She added MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode were more “harsh” than she expected. She said: “It really did make me think about how the celebrities must feel when they are on Strictly. John and Gregg were harsher than I thought they would be.”

Dianne was booted off the BBC cooking show on Tuesday, despite Black Eyed Peas rapper APL.DE.AP presenting Wallace and Torode with a baked potato. In comparison, Dianne’s offerings included mushroom soup and a pan-seared salmon on carrot, courgette and beetroot noodles, with a cream-based beurre blanc.
