Everything Stormzy has said about cheating on Maya Jama amid reunion rumours
Maya Jama and Stormzy were once upon a time, one of the biggest power couple's in the UK. Back in 2014, Bristolian babe Maya, 29, was taking the presenting and TV industry by storm, while her boyfriend Stormzy, 30, was - and still is - regarded as one of the most prominent rappers in the UK and beyond.
The pair were brought together in October 2014 at the Red Bull Culture Clash and began dating the following January. Then came a love story not to forget, with Stormzy penning songs including Birthday Girl about Maya, with the presenter going on to appear in the music video for his critically-acclaimed 2017 hit, Big For Your Boots.
Upon first meeting Stormzy - whose real name is Michael Omari Owuo Jr - Maya instantly knew that the pair had an undeniable connection as she foresaw a happy and bright future with the rapper. However, their whirlwind romance which seemingly appeared perfect on the surface ultimately ended in tears in 2019 amid rumours that the Vossi Bop hitmaker was unfaithful to Maya with fellow singer, Jorja Smith.
However, as soon as fan speculation began to swirl, Stormzy immediately shut down the rumours and denied cheating on Maya Jama with his close pal Jorja. The split came just a few short days after Stormzy attended Maya’s 25th birthday party at Night Tales bar in Hackney, where the couple posed in an array of loved-up snaps alongside their nearest and dearest.

“Maya has moved out of their home in South West London. The decision isn’t one she has come to lightly, but ultimately the relationship has come to an end. She wants to focus on her TV and radio career for now," Maya's representatives said at the time.
The presenter immediately unfollowed her ex-boyfriend on social media sites like Instagram and Twitter, and famously deleted all trace of the rapper from her Instagram grid - adding fuel to the fire that they ended on abrupt and bad terms.
Their split came as an even bigger shock to fans of the couple due to the fact that a couple of weeks prior to their relationship ending, Stormzy confessed that he was very much ready to propose to Maya. Back in 2019, he told the Sunday Mirror: "I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best."

The rapper denied cheating on Maya (WireImage)Following their split, Stormzy released a telling song about the end of his four-year relationship with Maya fans in his song Lessons from his album Heavy is The Head where the rapper alluded to cheating as he said in the song that he had 'done the dirt' on Maya.
The lyrics to the 2019 hit include 'the greatest love I ever knew' and 'it’s too hard to forgive'. Stormzy also penned: "I done the dirt and then I figured that you'll dig it out But that's a coward move, I guess you got me figured out. I know you'll never listen now."
However, a couple of months later, during a tell-all interview with Charlamagne tha God's on his YouTube channel, Stormzy was asked directly if he had been unfaithful to Maya and he denied ever being unfaithful to his ex-girlfriend.
After being asked if he had actually 'done the dirt' on Maya, the rapper replied: "Do you know what? I actually didn't cheat. I swear to God, I didn't cheat. So we had broken up and I was out publicly being a rapper, being very inconsiderate to the fact that I've just come out of the most public relationship.
"We'd broken up and I went out and I acted disrespectfully. I was just out in clubs. I knew the world still thought I was in a relationship and I was out looking like I didn't give a f**k. It didn't need to be cheating for it to be a disrespect."

Following his split with Maya, Stormzy watched on as the Love Island host moved on with Australian basketball star Ben Simmons, who had previously been in a long-term relationship with Kendall Jenner in 2021. After endless loved-up social media posts and a low-key engagement, Ben and Maya ultimately called it quits on their engagement in September 2022.

The pair called off their relationship just eight months after the basketball star proposed due to their hectic schedules. At the time, a source told the NY Post: "While they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realise that they just come from two different worlds. It's been a difficult time for them. They now understand they don't have the time they thought to dedicate to this relationship. As much as they love each other, their nonstop careers and endless travel have made it incredibly impossible to make it work."
While Maya enjoyed a brief romance with Ben, Stormzy hasn't entered into a new long-term relationship since his split from Maya. But it looks like the pair could have reconciled and could be giving each other another chance at love as speculation continues to swirl that Stormzy treated Maya to a luxurious getaway for her 29th birthday.

Fans think the former couple are on holiday together (TikTok/ @stormzy)The pair are both enjoying some rest and relaxation in Greece, with Stormzy reportedly flying Maya out on a private jet to the £2,700 per night holiday. The secret getaway at the plush resort is at a private Peloponnese villa at the Amanzoe complex which reportedly boasts a personal chef and butler, a pool with terrace, and speedboats.
The pair have each uploaded pictures from what appears to be the same report. An inside source has also revealed that the trip is Stomzy's 'romantic' birthday gift to Maya, who turned 29 earlier this month.
The source told The Sun: "Stormzy is mad for Maya and has spent huge amounts of money taking her on a luxury holiday." It also revealed that he flew the Love Island presenter out to Greece in a private jet and then brought her into the resort by helicopter in a trip they labelled as "very romantic".
The source added that Stormzy is keen to show Maya that she "means the world to him" and he wants her to be treated "like a queen".
Whilst neither Maya or Stormzy have confirmed that they're enjoying the same Greek holiday, both have been sharing snaps to social media as they get a chance to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Both stars have been sharing snaps from a stunning resort which looks very similar, but have only posted pics of themselves - driving fans wild.
