Meghan Markle has finally confirmed that she will join Prince Harry at the Invictus Games next month.

In a statement from Archewell, the couple's post-royal organisation, it was announced that Meghan will join her husband for the second half of the games, which are taking place in Germany. A spokesperson for the couple said that they were both "delighted to be attending" the games this year. Harry will start the Games alone, attending the Opening Ceremony on September 9 solo. Meghan will fly over to join him on September 11, and they will attend the Closing Ceremony on the 19th together.

The announcement comes just hours after Harry confirmed he will be returning to the UK on the eve of the first anniversary of the Queen's death for an awards ceremony. However, Meghan will not be making the trip with him.

Meghan has been a huge supporter of the Invictus Games since she started dating Harry and has been in the crowds throughout their relationship. In a sign of how important it is to them, they used the event to make their first public appearance together.

Invictus Games was started in 2014 by Prince Harry to inspire "recovery through sports, esports and adventurous challenge," according to its website. The games are for international wounded, injured, and sick serving and veteran servicemen and women.

The Dusseldorf games will have 21 nations represented, ten sports, and over 1,500 volunteers. This is the first time the games will be held in Germany. The games were last held in The Hague, Netherlands in 2022 after originally going to be held in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back. The next games will be held in 2025 in Vancouver, Canada.

Harry is releasing a documentary series, Heart of Invictus, on Netflix at the end of this month on August 30. It's produced by Harry and Meghan's Archewell Productions company, which also partnered with Netflix for the 2022 Harry & Meghan documentary series about the couple. The documentary series will focus on competitors at the 2022 games.
