An iconic, resurfaced video of Coleen Nolan singing and crying when she first quit Loose Women has gone viral on social media.

The panellist, 58, is a household name on the ITV show. Viewers are used to seeing her discuss the latest news every week but the star did once quit the programme in 2011 after a decade. Loose Women gave Coleen a lovely send-off that included an entire episode dedicated to her.

After receiving emotional tributes from fellow panellists Denise Welch, Kate Thornton and Sherrie Hewson and interviewing her all-time favourite guests, she was given presents, dessert and a best bits compilation. As Coleen was part of The Nolans, ITV concluded the programme by having her sing Say Goodbye Today by Carole King on stage.

Coleen was emotional throughout the rendition and cried as she switched up some of the lyrics to relate to her time on the programme. She struggled to sing the final line, "I can't believe we're going to say goodbye today", as she was crying and wiping away her tears.

It seemed emotional at the time but the star returned to Loose Women around two years later. In October 2013, she sat back down with her co-stars and continued on as normal. She is still a regular panellist today. The clip of her goodbye song went viral on social media and fans couldn't help but feel amused by the throwback clip.

The page that shared the iconic clip, Best Pop Culture, commented: "Me saying bye to all my primary school friends in year 6 knowing damn well we're going to the same high school," while another amused fan posted: "And she’s still on it today doing the most."

"This is so camp I’m obsessed," one fan said while another added: "Me when I worked in a nursery and they put me in another room for the day." One viewer compared it to musical theatre, writing: "It’s giving that musical theatre competition show where they’d all sing to the one leaving."

One fan said: "Me quitting my job and my mates are proud of me for being strong then I come back the next day because I need the money." Coleen's tearful goodbye received almost a million views since it was shared earlier this week.

Loose Women is available to watch every weekday at 12:30pm on ITV*
