Stacey Solomon has admitted she was “scared” to tell people she was home alone after her husband Joe Swash took their older kids away on holiday.
The Sort Your Life Out star revealed she hasn’t seen four-year-old Rex and one-year-old Rose for a week as Joe had taken them to see his mum in Spain, where she lives for the summer. Excited to be on her way to pick them all up from the airport, Stacey shared the reason she hadn’t told fans they were away was because she felt vulnerable being home alone with baby Belle.
In a video posted to her Instagram stories – which she captioned ‘time to pick up my babies’ the mum-of-five filmed herself putting her trainers and coat on as she got ready to collect her brood. “I’m just about to go and pick up Joe and the kids from the airport,” the 33-year-old told her 5.7 million followers. “I haven’t said anything, because basically Joe’s mum lives in Spain for the summer so he wanted to take the kids out to see her.
“But he didn’t feel confident taking all three, so he took Rose and Rex with him for a week to go and see his mum and I kept Belle with me. She’s basically been coming everywhere with me for the last week and I haven’t seen Rex and Rose for a whole week!”

The family on holiday together earlier this month (Instagram)Saying it’s the longest time she’s ever spent apart from her little ones, the Tap To Tidy star continued: “I didn’t say anything while they were away because it’s scary if people know it’s just me and Belle on our own at home together, so I didn’t say anything. But today’s the day I finally get to go and pick them up and I’ve missed them so much. Like, I literally cannot to squeeze them! This is the longest I’ve been away from them ever, so I’m going to get my babies back!”

Joe’s trip comes a few days after he took Stacey and the family – including Zachary, 15, Leighton, 11, Rex, 4, Rose, 1 and six-month-old Belle – on a lavish holiday to the five-star Regnum Carya Hotel in Antalya, Turkey.
Sharing photos on her Instagram page before they returned home, Stacey said: “Our last day in paradise. Spending time with my family is the best thing in the world, and this place is just magical. Thank you for the memories @regnumcarya“.
However, some of her millions of followers were quick to criticise the holiday, which reportedly cost in the region of £47,000, calling it “tone deaf” amid a raging cost of living crisis. She later revealed she had received a discount thanks to advertising a travel agent.
And loyal fans were quick to leap to her defence with one saying: “Bloody well done #StaceySolomon for working and earning loads so you can afford a £47,000 holiday. Jealousy is an energy waster.” Another added. “People having a go at her for posting holiday pictures on Instagram of her and the family having an amazing time. Apparently it's showing off.”
