Gwyneth Paltrow and her looalike daughter Apple have been spotted wearing matching outfits in a sweet snap.

The 50-year-old took to her Instagram page on Monday after tropical storm Hilary swept through Southern California and neighbouring states. She posted a picture alongside her 19-year-old daughter as they both modelled dark green Hunter wellies.

They opted for the appropriate boots due to most of Los Angeles being left flooded after the storm. The actress explained she was showing off her summer fashion as she was at her Montecito, California estate.

Alongside multiple outfit photos, Gwyneth wrote: "OOTD summer roundup." The star often posts what she's been wearing to give her fans some inspiration.

Fans took to the comments to shared what they thought about the outfit choices. One pointed out that some of Gwyneth's options were quite expensive. They said: "The striped shirt is amazing, but ridiculously out of reach for the vast majority of your followers! $1700 for a cotton-blend shirt?! Gouging consumers is unethical! Goop and Gwyneth a little tone-deaf?"

While another praised her saying: "I like the sixth photo and the Seventh best, but I also dig those green boots." While celebrity pal Kate Hudson wrote: "You’re just damn cute."

Storm Hilary is the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years. It dropped more than half an average year’s worth of rain on some areas, including the desert resort city of Palm Springs, which saw nearly three inches of rain by Sunday evening.

Tropical Storm Hilary ruined parts of Mexico and then Southern California from the coast to inland mountains and deserts, forcing rescuers to pull several people from rivers. More flooding and mudslides were expected on Monday, even as the storm began to weaken. It is expected to come to an end during Tuesday.

One person drowned during the storm. Celebrities have been documenting what it has been like in LA since the storm began, with some just experiencing showers depending which part of California they were in.

Tropical Storm Hilary was downgraded to a post-tropical storm by the National Hurricane Center in its early Monday advisory. But despite weakening status, authorities said that the flood threat was not over and additional rainfall was expected until Tuesday.
