Once Upon A One More Time, a jukebox musical soundtracked and inspired by Britney Spears' songs is now said to be closing after three months on Broadway. The play is set to have its last performance at the Marquis Theatre on September 3 just two months after its official opening back in June, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The musical was approved by Britney in one of the first deals she signed since her conservatorship ended after 13 years, and some of the show's early themes were reportedly suggested by her. However, Once Upon A One More Time has been struggling to fill seats, with capacity remaining stuck in the 50% range within the last seven weeks, according to reports.
At the end of their eight-performance week, the show only grossed $512,008 - its lowest figure since it opened, the Mail found. However, its failure on Broadway hasn't disheartened the producers, who plan on taking the musical international.

The news of the jukebox musical comes after Britney's personal turmoil amid her split from husband Sam Asghari. The pair reportedly called it quits on their marriage after just one year as husband and wife.
