Tensions are running high among the professional dancers of Strictly Come Dancing as they are said to be squabbling over who gets paired with which celebrity.
The 21st season of the long-running BBC dance contest will soon be back on screens - with a varying cast of stars from the screen, radio, and sports fields taking part in the 2023 competition. But it seems only two of the stars are drawing the attention of the dance pros as they strive to be paired with the famous contestants deemed most likely to win the show.
Former Love Island contestants Zara McDermott - who has made history after becoming the first reality star to be a ‘celebrity’ contestant on the show - has been found to be the most in demand female star. While Bobby Brazier - the EastEnders actor who is the son of former Shipwrecked reality star Jeff Brazier and late Big Brother contestant Jade Goody - is the male star all the female pros have their eyes on.
The Sun has reported that 26-year-old Zara and 20-year-old Bobby are the favourites. A source told the publication: "All the dancers want to be paired with them because they both have serious potential on the dance floor.

They know their airtime is largely dependent on how talented their celebrity pairing is, so everything is to play for at this stage.”
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tour
The report has suggested that Les Dennis and Angela Rippon have also been found to be more proficient at dance than anticipated as the stars and pros have been limbering up during rehearsals ahead of the live shows beginning. Les, 69, is said to be focused on not being regarded as a joke act and has been taking his dance training seriously.
While 78-year-old Angela has been surprising show organisers with her own fair footed feats during rehearsals. However, the dance professionals perhaps should cast a wider net over who they want to be paired with.
Last year, 33-year-old documentarian Hamza Yassin shocked everyone when he became the star performer of the show, lifting the glitter ball trophy after being partnered with Jowita Przystał. The wildlife cameraman and presenter skipped, twirled and waltzed to victory over 22-year-old actress Molly Rainford, 40-year-old presenter Helen Skelton, and 35-year-old singer Fleur East.
While another unlikely winner of the contest was discovered in 2020 when comedian Bill Bailey lifted the trophy alongside professional dancer Oti Mabuse.
The 2023 contest includes former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington, Paralympian Jody Cundy, and tennis pro Annabel Croft, among others. The 21st season of Strictly Come Dancing is due to be begin on BBC One next month.
