Jurgen Klopp believes there is still plenty more to come from Dominik Szoboszlai after the Liverpool midfielder excelled in Saturday's win over Bournemouth.

Szoboszlai, 22, has only played two competitive games for the Reds since his £60million summer switch from RB Leipzig but has already made a major impression on the Anfield faithful. And the Hungary international only enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a man of the match performance against the Cherries.

The midfielder was influential in Liverpool's forward play and also dropped into a deeper role after Alexis Mac Allister saw red in the second-half. But Klopp is adamant that fans won't see the best of their new midfield maestro for some time yet.

Speaking after Saturday's match, Klopp told reporters: “He was the only one [after the red card] who really felt like he had power for more, because he was part of the double six and running everywhere. I had to hold him back a little bit. But, the general performance level he shows since he’s here is really, really good, to be honest, and the involvement in the third goal obviously super-important.”

Liverpool's third goal, a poachers finish from Diogo Jota, came about after Szoboszlai's powerful drive was parried by Pedro Neto - but Klopp has backed the midfielder to hit the goal trail himself soon.

The German added: “So these kind of finishing, shooting skills, we didn’t see yet properly, but we’ll probably see that more often in the future. But he had a really good finish, the goalie couldn’t clear it and Diogo could score. It was a good one.”

Although Szoboszlai received lofty praise from Klopp after Saturday's big win, the midfielder revealed that the Liverpool boss was "screaming" at him during the match.

Speaking after the game, Szoboszlai told BBC Sport: “I am feeling really, really great, I am really happy and I hope I can do even more here in front of the fans.

“We are there for each other and if somebody gets sent off then we change some of the things and I go back as a six. I cannot go forward as much, even the manager was screaming at me sometimes because I forget it. We fight for each other and we even scored after the red card.”

He added: “The reaction after losing a goal was unbelievable. We had no stress, we were calm on the ball and in front of the goal. We changed some things and it worked. Of course, we will improve with time. We have a new team, new player and new system. We will be even better with time.”
