Janette Marara has given a candid update on how she is recovering following her C-section three weeks ago.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 39, underwent the procedure to welcome her first daughter, Lyra Rose, into the world. Janette shares Lyra with her husband, fellow Strictly star Aljaž Škorjanec.
New mum Janette took to her Instagram story to give fans an update three weeks on from her daughter's birth. In the upbeat clip Janette looked stunning as she went makeup free and discussed how Aljaž's family had visited the new family of three. She said: "Yesterday was Lyra's three week birthday and we had such a great day because Aljaž's parents are here now they arrived on Tuesday – and his sister, but she just left this morning."
"They've been here all week cooking, cleaning, cuddling Lyra, I feel so spoilt I don't know what's going to happen when they leave because I've had my parents for a week [and] now them for a week," she explained. Later in the video, Janette revealed she had been visited by her fellow Strictly pals Katya Jones and Dan Walker.

The Strictly star also candidly revealed how her recovery was going (Instagram/ @jmanrara)Changing the subject to her health and recovery, Janette, who recently gave fans a Strictly update, said: "A couple of you have been asking how the recovery for me has been going. Today is 22 days since the surgery and, I'll be honest, I feel so much more like myself – this last week, especially. I'm able to go up and down the stairs easily, I can finally sleep on my side – because I was sleeping just sat up for almost two weeks.

"I've been getting better sleep because I've been sleeping on my side and, also, I've got help looking after Lyra. The incision is looking really good and I still feel a little bit of pain, obviously I can't do a lot of things, but the recovery is going so, so, so well."
The Strictly It Takes Two host continued: "I think there was a moment there where I thought is this going to last forever but luckily it really doesn't and you just have to take it easy and day by day. Everyone's recovery is totally different but so far so good and I'm feeling really good." She ended the clip by saying: "I'm just enjoying my love bubble with Lyra and being a mum."

Janette shared a candid black and white photo of herself lying in a hospital bed with her daughter resting on her chest and a delighted Aljaž resting his hands on them, she wrote: "Lyra Rose Skorjanec. July 28, 2023."
The couple's co-stars and friends rushed to the comments to congratulate them, with Gemma Atkinson writing: "Just wonderful." While James Jordan wrote: "So happy for you both. Sending love from the Jordans."
Emmerdale star Lisa Riley, who appeared on Strictly in 2012, wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS….little Lyra one thing is for sure, with your beautiful Mum and Dad you will be loved, loved and loved some more." Pro Amy Dowden gushed that it was "utter perfection" while former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips wrote: "Beautiful moment. Years of joy ahead . All the love."
