Sex-crazed woman throttled her lover during sex then hacked his head off
Disturbing details of the gruesome drug-fuelled murder of a man committed by a young woman during their sex act emerged during a trial in which she was convicted.
A court in late July found that Taylor Schabusiness, a 25-year-old woman from Green Bay, Wisconsin, brutally killed her lover, Shad Thyrion, in February 2022 when he was 24.
During the trial, prosecutors detailed how she strangled him with a dog collar, leading to his death. It was revealed that Schabusiness even admitted to feeling Thyrion's heartbeat as she continued to apply pressure.
The chilling crime took place in Shad's mother's basement. But the grim scenes didn't end with his murder, as Schabusiness admitted to continuing sexually assaulting his lifeless body even after his heartbeat ceased.
She then proceeded to decapitate him and dismember his body into parts. Detectives and investigators, arriving at the crime scene, were confronted with a gruesome scene. Thyrion's remains were discovered in various states of dismemberment, and his severed head was found in a bucket.

The defence and prosecution both acknowledged the potential impact of this drug use on her behaviour and mental state.
In a bizarre incident during the early stages of the trial in March, Schabusiness attacked her previous attorney, Quinn Jolly. Despite being handcuffed, she managed to strike him in the head with her elbow, although he didn't sustain any injuries. She was then wrestled to the floor by a police deputy.

Additionally, a friend named Alexander "AJ" Gannon testified with erratic and confusing statements about his interactions with Schabusiness and Thyrion.
The court played an interrogation video in which Schabusiness admitted to her involvement in the crime. She confessed to using a dog collar to strangle Thyrion during an intimate encounter and described further actions taken after his death.
Photographs of Schabusiness' hands and arms were also presented, showing cuts and abrasions that were allegedly sustained during or after the murder.

"This is strange. This is unnatural — but in no way is it unclear,” Lasee said. “She did cause Shad Thyrion’s death.”
Defence attorney Christopher Froelich said the case was "a puzzling, unclear collection of facts".
"Was this an accidental death? Was there intent to kill Shad Thryion? It’s foggy, it’s cloudy, it’s hard to figure out,” Froelich said.

Schabusiness' competency to stand trial was evaluated and confirmed by a judge in March. Ultimately, she was convicted of homicide, third-degree sexual abuse, and mutilating a corpse. In a second phase of the trial, it was found that she didn't suffer from mental illness or defect at the time of the crime.
