In a few weeks time we will finally get to see Prince Harry's latest Netflix offering, a documentary about his Invictus Games. Sixteen months after it was first announced, the programme will go behind the scenes at the games with the Duke of Sussex.

In recent years we've seen more and more of Harry and his brother William speaking openly on TV about the projects they're passionate about, but according to an expert - there will be a key difference with this latest venture.

We've seen Prince William and Princess Kate use primetime TV to promote their Earthshot Prize Ceremony on the BBC, but Harry's show being on Netflix will mean he has another pressure on his shoulders - viewing figures.

Royal author and historian Tessa Dunlop tells The Mirror: "Let's just own it. Whatever you feel about the Sussexes, Harry's Heart of Invictus Netflix trailer is brilliant: dramatic, engaging, emotive. The Duke tells his audience: "You are people of substance, of resilience, of strength", and we believe him.

"Here is an ex-military man who has changed lives through his Invictus mission and this series will remind us of that. The Ukraine war invades the screen, burly men open up about their trauma, heroes are recast in a different world, one sprinkled with royal magic. But Harry isn't a working royal anymore and that makes this Invictus Netflix goal a tough one.

"Take his brother Prince William (once he moves beyond the should he/shouldn't he? fly to Australia controversy). William has leant into his Earthshot environmental mission, just like Harry has owned the ex-military space. But there is one crucial difference: William as the future king doesn't have to achieve commercial and critical success with his environmental competitions.

"In a swanky velvet jacket he hosted the finalists for his 2021 Earthshot prize on BBC1 prime time. Did anyone check how many people watched? Did anyone care? This was our future head of state, funded by the state, doing it for the environment with the support of our state broadcaster.

"It was a guaranteed success regardless of viewers. Ditto his upcoming trips to the US and Singapore for the next round of Earthshot Prizes. Once more, the green carpet will be rolled out and irrespective of interest, the feelgood factor will ensure the events are hailed a success.

"Harry out on his own has a much harder task. While he's said that all profits from this Netflix series will feed back into Invictus, it is the bigger picture that matters. After the indignity of being dropped by Spotify the Sussexes need to prove Archewell Productions can create content that matches the enormity of their brand. And they need to succeed without programmes dependent on royal scoops and mudslinging.

"That the series launch date, 30 August, is just one day before the anniversary of the death of his late great mother, Diana, is unlikely to be a coincidence. Harry needs all the goodwill he can get. The Heart of Invictus is a litmus test not just for its extraordinary competitors, but likewise for its controversial host."
