Katie Price explains why she's leaving Mucky Mansion after expensive renovation
Katie Price has revealed why she is leaving her Mucky Mansion - despite spending lots of money renovating it.
The mum-of-five has fronted two series of a Channel 4 show on her home, where she has been turning it from its 'mucky' state into a family home for her and her kids. At the time, she revealed she wanted to make the big changes to her house to turn around some of the bad luck she's experienced there and began to slowly renovate the property.
However, she has now revealed she plans to rent the house and move out of the property herself. Speaking on her Katie Price Show podcast, she was quizzed by sister Sophie on her plans for her home.
Detailing what her plan is going forward, she said of her home: "I'm still thinking of renting it, it’s just too big for me. I’m always up in Essex at the minute. I want to get something smaller. I don’t know. I just think this house gives me bad luck. It’s such a good family home but it is too big for me. It’s more of an excuse for the kids to make a mess."

"She’s living there part time – you can see the house’s distinctive conservatory in the background of some of her TikToks and live streams. She moved in before their Ibiza trip but nobody knows why as she’s talked so much about the Mucky Mansion’s makeover and how it’s worth £2m. Carl’s cars are on the drive and neighbours have seen them both at the house," a source told the Daily Star.
Katie previously told The Mirror that she struggled to spend time in the house because of all the "bad memories".
She said: "I found it hard to come to the house. I had bad memories of it all. I was introduced to someone who wanted to turn it into a wedding venue, but it turned out to be a hoax and he ended up fly-tipping all of my land and made my house derelict inside. And then it got burgled and someone turned the shower on, so it leaked and my ceiling collapsed.
"It looked like a building site, so that’s where it got the name Mucky Mansion. I got to a point where I could come back to the house but to move into it, I had to change everything. I wanted to bring love back into the house and that’s what I’ve done. The past is the past and the house has got a different feel to it now. There is no bad feeling here any more. It really does feel like a home."
