Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have confirmed they are ending their marriage after just 14 months.
The duo tied the knot in 2022 and had been together for six years, but Sam confirmed speculation they are going their separate ways in an emotional Instagram upload. And now Britney has shared a post of her own - but has avoided speaking about their split.
In her latest, she shared a sepia drawing of a woman whispering in someone's ear as they drip liquid into a smaller person's mouth who is stuck inside a bottle. The Baby One More Time singer, 41, captioned the post: "How do you read this ??? It’s interesting !!! I see it as a message in a bottle !!! Or a baby who needs to get out !!! They whisper the poison like in Alice In Wonderland and they wait to see if they have the cure !!! Wise birds know who they are."
Britney posed a question on her Instagram page (britneyspears/Instagram)She turned off the comments on the post, but it had been liked over 16,000 times quickly after being uploaded. And it had followed an earlier post which seemed just as cryptic. Sharing a video of a painting in which a woman was asleep, the songstress penned: "Sometimes you see more with your eyes closed," alongside an emoji of a monkey face covering its eyes.
They were two of the latest uploaded by the star who had earlier deleted images of her and Sam from her social media page. Scrolling through Britney's Instagram, you're unlikely to find snaps of Sam anymore, and it's understood by social media experts that it's the "nail in the coffin." Expert at Fizzbox Tom Bourlet exclusively told Mirror: "The removal of images and videos together on the social profiles will be the so-called nail in the coffin for their relationship status."

Writing on his Instagram Stories, the Iranian-born star said: "After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.
He continued to add: "Sh** happens. Asking for privacy seems rediclulous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful."
On Wednesday night, TMZ reported Sam and Britney parted ways after a "nuclear" argument. Sam is said to have moved out of the marital home he shared with Britney. An insider told TMZ: "It's only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce." Allegedly, Sam approached Britney about cheating rumours. While it isn't clear if the rumours are true, the source said that what ensued was a heated argument.
