Britney Spears was spotted driving without her wedding ring just hours after the news broke about her split from husband Sam Asghari, who has since filed for a divorce.
The Princess of Pop was in the driver's seat of her white Mercedes-Benz in Los Angeles on Wednesday, with her left hand visibly bare sitting on top of the steering wheel. The Baby One More Time singer had a somber expression on her face and looked deep in thought as she drove home. According to TMZ, Sam filed the paperwork Wednesday and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. A photo of Sam posted on social media two weeks ago shows he has also ditched his ring.
The model dropped the hint that his marriage was having problems leading up to their divorce was he was seen bare-handed in an Instagram photo carousel he posted on July 31. Both parties have also allegedly moved out of their marital home following the split, but Britney was seen driving in the area earlier today.

It has been claimed that actor Sam, 29, plans to contest the prenup the couple signed before their 2021 wedding, with shocking allegations that he's 'threatened to expose " extraordinary embarrassing info " about Britney if she doesn't agree.
Britney's lawyer Mathew Rosengart, who helped the Womanizer singer out of her 13-year long conservatorship in November of 2021, was also involved in creating the superstar's martial prenup. Britney is currently believed to be worth about $70 million, but much of the cash has been spent on legal fees and child support for her two children. A source at the time told Page Six that: "Any money she made before the wedding is protected."

Late on Thursday night Britney broke her silence with an irrelevant but slightly bizarre Instagram post in which she describes the difficulty of buying a horse. Along a snap of her riding a horse while wearing a yellow bikini and a straw hat, she wrote: "Buying a horse soon!!! So many options it's kinda hard. A horse called Sophie and another called Roar. I can't make up my mind!!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar."

Reports suggested the couple's breakup came after a heated argument during which Sam confronted Britney about cheating rumours. It's not known if these are true. The Mirror has contacted both Britney and Sam's reps for comment.
The couple first met back in 2016 on the set of Britney's Slumber Party music video and quickly fell head over heels for one other. In fact, the Toxic singer's love for Sam was of the motivating factors for the star to end her 13-year-long conservatorship so the two could marry.
Sam popped the question back in 2021 after the couple spent nearly five years together. The pair later wed in a beautiful star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles in June of 2022 - just 14 months ago. The lovebirds walked down the aisle with 60 of Hollywood's biggest stars cheering them on as Elvis Presley's love song "Can't Help Falling in Love" played in the background.
Although the couple spent many joyful moments together, they also experienced difficult struggles throughout their six year relationship. In April of 2017, the couple eagerly announced that they were expanding their family and expecting a child together. But just a month later, the pair had to share the heartbreaking news that Britney experienced a miscarriage, ruining the couple's dream.
A TMZ documentary was also released about the famous couple's marriage in which the news outlet claimed the pair were in "deep trouble" months before the news of their divorce. The news outlet accused Britney of being physically violent towards Sam and alleged the couple often had screaming fights - claims that TMZ said they verified with "multiple sources."
