Madonna shows off ageless beauty in glam snap as she celebrates 65th birthday
Musician Madonna has celebrated her 65th birthday with a perfectly poised Instagram snap as she recovers after being hospitalised two months ago.
The Material Girl singer turned 65 today (August 16) and looked as youthful as ever in the selfie that saw her share a filtered selfie with sunglasses and striking makeup to her Instagram Stories and her 19million followers.
Madonna posed in the selfie and shared a comment box as she revealed she would be reading birthday messages from fans for her 65th birthday.
The star looked the picture of health in the selfie, a stark contrast to two months ago when she was hospitalised with a "serious bacterial infection" that landed her in the intensive care unit in June.

Despite needing to be treated in intensive care and being forced to cancel her tour a few weeks ago, she's reportedly keen to get back to her usual energetic self. Reports say that Madonna has splashed out big bucks on a "top-secret UK venue" to rehearse in ahead of her London show in October. Madonna will take to the stage at London's iconic O2 Arena on October 14.

A source has spoken to The US Sun to reveal that the singer is "very much still in recovery" but has been "chomping at the bit to get back to rehearsals". The inside source explained: "Not only has she hired the Coliseum in New York but she’s also hired out a second venue in London for the final week of dress rehearsals.

The tight turnaround on the venue means popstar Madonna will have less than 48 hours to be ready to perform to fans once she can access the venue. Yet for Madonna, she's just happy to be able to return to singing and performing as the Like A Virgin singer said: "I realised how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am. Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me stay to finish doing my work."
