An urban explorer has shared incredible images from inside a home ravaged by flames still containing the family’s priceless artefacts.
The house, in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, was seriously damaged in an electrical fire in February last year. Everyone inside escaped the carnage but it is still uninhabitable.
Explorer Daniel Sims recently visited the shell of a house and found several heirlooms still on what remains of the walls. Among them is a samurai sculpture in the garden and a hand painted traditional Japanese straw hat. However the images also show the extent of the damage inside the family home, with many rooms completely crumbled.

I know very little apart from it was a very expensive property and clearly was filled with very very valuable items which you can tell with what remains.
"With everything found I would say the family was most likely Japanese as certain items were more than just collector's pieces. The site itself was wide open because of the extensive damage but other hidden parts had doors and windows that either no longer existed or were open.

At one point I climbed a ladder leading to the upper floors so I did wonder if anyone saw me would find it strange a random bearded man with a camera and torch is climbing a building. The outside of the property contained a very cool and awesome yellow saab and lovely looking gardens which if not for the fire you would not be able to tell that any damage had been around.
"Parts of the gardens contained tents filled with very well made furniture and loads of aga fridges still filled with food which I found surprising. Moving to the kitchen more food and places in that part were not touched by fire again fridges were filled with now rotting food and items were still left out suggesting the fire was rapid and fast.

The pantry is still stocked with food from the time (mediadrumimages/BeardedReality)"The living room had a ceiling that had caved but this is where the treasures were found: some crazy Japanese bronze statues and a Japanese drum which looked very expensive and old and definitely brought or imported from Japan. There were a few paintings that made me question if they were authentic as they felt real and not prints.
"The upper floor was covered in rubble. I saw a mountain of charred and destroyed dresses and women's shoes and a bedroom ravaged by fire. The basement, another untouched area, had so much left behind and a bottom-floor kitchen with so much rotting food it was unbelievable.
Several firefighters battled the flames at the time of the blaze (mediadrumimages/BeardedReality)"With places like this, I love the decay and rust and how different the place is from others I have visited with a really unique mini zen garden and also saddened that such a place is like this now. It would have been a lovely family home, however the fire ripped it apart causing major damage.
"In February 2022 the mansion caught fire from an electrical fault and has been left since then. No casualties were reported, however I can not tell if the place was left before that or if since the fire the property has been abandoned. The only scary moment for me was when I was climbing the rubble to reach a hard spot and the floor started collapsing in on itself.
"That is why I do not encourage or recommend that anyone copy what I do and my actions which are my own."
