Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been offered a lifeline after facing a series of blows, according to an entertainment expert.
The Duke of Sussex has been snubbed from another award after failing to land a place on the shortlist for the upcoming National Television Awards. This comes after he and Meghan already missed out on an Emmy Award nomination.
The Sussexes also hit a major bump in their careers when they were axed from Spotify. The couple had signed an exclusive $25million (£19million) deal with the streaming service after stepping back from the Royal Family.
Entertainment expert Mark Boardman believes they've now been given a much-needed breakthrough after reportedly purchasing the film rights to the bestselling novel Meet Me at the Lake. Meghan and Harry are said to have spent $3.8million (£3million) to buy the adaptation rights.

He added: "I believe this project has the potential to be a pivotal move for Harry and Meghan."

Meet Me at the Lake has proven to be a massive success with readers, having sold 37,000 copies in its first week alone. The novel focuses on a couple who fall in love in their 30s and deals with themes of childhood trauma and post-natal depression.
One of the big plot points is the death of a parent in a car crash. The Duke of Sussex was just 12 years old when his mother Princess Diana died in the same circumstances at the age of 36 in 1997.

Meet Me at the Lake is quite similar to Meghan and Harry's own lives (Amazon)Mark said the similarity between the book and Meghan and Harry's own lives gives the couple a chance to create a "unique and compelling narrative." Speaking to Newsweek, he added how the couple might be able to "grow within the entertainment industry" by sharing their own perspectives.
Meet Me at the Lake is said to be the next stage of the couple's deal with Netflix. They've already created a docuseries for the streaming giant, which focused on their time in the Royal Family.
In the show, Meghan opened up about her mental health struggles, while Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William. Speaking about their working relationship with the Sussexes, a Netflix spokesperson said: "Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix's most spectacular documentary debut to date.
"Our exciting journey with them isn't ending anytime soon. We're currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus."
