A family who bought and renovated a wreck of a farmhouse near the coast in Wales have turned it into a dream house.

Some buyers viewing a potential new home struggle with visualising how they might change the decor, fit their furniture inside or how they could rework the space to fit their lifestyle, reports Wales Online. Imagine then how they might feel if they visited this derelict former farmhouse as a potential future home - but the Doy family have amazingly turned West View Farm, in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, into a sprawling, contemporary dream home.

Sitting in 16 acres of mainly flat countryside allows the house to enjoy sweeping rural vistas to the coast and to the castle, views that totally surround the home with only your own woodland to interrupt the horizon. It's rare to find a home in this prime position with a 360 degree panoramic view, not every property near the coast can boast such a huge slice of land.

The Doys obviously knew what they were doing when they bought the former pile of rubble and dust. Looking at the home as it is now, the main addition to the former tumbledown house is an end wing that has been designed to fully capture the mesmerising views on both floors.

It has floor-to-ceiling windows and doors completely covering the end of the new extension. Downstairs the lounge can boast the prime position in the glass section of this house. Sitting looking out of the doors and windows with the views on three sides, makes you feel like you are almost fully immersed by the countryside, even on a bad weather day.

On a good weather day, throw open the doors that lead directly to the sunny terrace and a bench with maybe the best rural views in the area. This main lounge is vast and, although light and airy, it is given a welcoming warmth not only by the use of blond-toned wood flooring but a substantial log burner in the substantial fireplace.

Upstairs, of course, it's the master that bags the best spot for a bedroom, with this space also benefiting from the floor-to-ceiling window panel design. With the addition of a Juliet balcony, the doors can be flung open up here too - just don't try and step out.
