Love Island's Montel delves into why he and Leah split after two weeks
Love Island's Montel McKenzie has delved into the real reason why he and Leah Taylor split after leaving the villa.
The pair had their ups and downs while on the hit dating show but it seemed like they were going strong, but this just lasted two weeks after heading home.
The former couple went through speculation regarding their relationship status when they revealed during the final that they were no longer an item. While on the programme, they faced difficulties when tehy returned from Casa Amor and it came out that Montel had kissed someone else.
After facing cheating rumours after the show, Leah responded to a TikTok comment about their split. She wrote: "Yes I forgave once in the villa and was ready to move on from it but I don’t forgive twice."

In a sit down video, he said: "I've seen my name circulating in the media a bit, a bit of bad press, a bit of rumours being spread. I thought I'd come here and address everything. First of all, they are just rumours."

He then went on to deny any cheating rumours, saying: "I would never do that." He explained the specific reason that the pair called time on their romance, which he said was when Montel and some of his fellow Islanders attended an event but Leah was in Manchester at the time.
Montel described one photo in particular as sparking the split, with Leah not "happy with the position" he was in. The photo shows Montel alongside Islanders Andre, Elom, Kodie, Gabby, and Tink who was positioned in front of Montel.
He explained: "Obviously after what happened in Casa, the pictures came out and Leah wasn't happy with the position of the pictures where people were posted." He also said that nothing else happened with anyone at the event, saying he "moved on with the night" after the picture was taken.
Finishing off his video, Montel said: "I get it. For me I was just out having a good time, we took a picture, I was with my boys and we were all just chilling and we moved on with the night. Anyone who was at the event can confirm nothing happened. I didn’t do anything, didn’t sleep with anyone, wasn’t DMing anyone. I just wanted to be with her at the time."
Previously speaking to OK! Leah previously shared her reasons for the split. She revealed: "We were coupled up while on the show and it was quite a new couple as well, so it's not like we had as much time as the other people in there. So we had always said the next step for us was seeing how things work in the real world. And coming out we went on one date but it's just one of those, it hasn't worked out."
