Meghan Markle was recently spotted wearing a wellness disc on her wrist, which has now been revealed as a stress patch. Created by NuCalm, the drug-free treatment – which costs £1,000 a year – boosts gaba neurotransmitters, reduces stress hormones and improves sleep, and is loved by Hollywood's elite.
Meghan was seen wearing the patch while she was out walking with a bodyguard near her home in Montecito, California, on Thursday. The mum-of-two, 42, has faced a number of setbacks this summer.
Speaking exclusively to us on behalf of One Lucky Couple, former mental health therapist Alicia Ortega has revealed that the new patch might have more benefits that it seems, hinting that the stress patch could have a "ripple effect" and improve Meghan's relationship with her husband Prince Harry.
"If these patches, whether through genuine physiological effects or the power of belief, help individuals manage their stress or emotions better, that can have a ripple effect on their relationships. Less personal stress can lead to more harmonious interactions, better understanding, and increased patience with a partner," Alicia told us.

Some might be fads, while others might stick around for the long haul. If someone's solely relying on a patch without addressing underlying mental or emotional concerns, that might be a recipe for merely masking deeper issues," she added.

"All in all, while the jury might still be out on the widespread efficacy of wellness patches, their rise in popularity is undoubtedly intriguing. As with any new wellness trend, it's essential to find what works for you personally, be open to experimentation, and stay grounded in the understanding that there's no absolute answer to what will benefit everyone."

They were rumoured to be stepping away from one another but have since proved this wrong (Getty Images)Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry broke their silence amid false split rumours and reports that they were "stepping away" from one another to work on solo projects. Harry is reportedly heading to Africa to shoot a Netflix documentary, while Meghan is due to stay behind and work on her own projects.
Reports also revealed that Meghan was looking to "step away" for her husband to work on said projects, but has Harry's full and unwavering support in doing so. The canny career move could see former Suits actress Meghan make millions of dollars for her young family.
