Meghan sends 'clear message about future' after flashing anti-stress patch

Meghan Markle sent a "clear message" about her future career after she was spotted wearing an anti-stress patch, an expert has claimed.

The duchess was spotted at the end of last week showing off the unusual patch stuck to her wrist, which has been developed by the brand NuCalm. Known as the Biosignal Processing Disc, it's said to "provide the resonance and frequencies to ensure a fast-acting, deep, and long-lasting NuCalm experience".

The makers of the patch have now shared images of Meghan on their Instagram feed, confirming she was wearing one of its patches and offering potential customers a 7-day free trial of the product.

And one brand expert has told MailOnline that it could be yet another sign that Meghan is set to line up a string of new business partnerships after reports she is to revive her old lifestyle blog The Tig. He explained: "Meghan's strategic placement of a stress pack from a relatively new start-up company that reposted the image of her in their own social media is a clear message that she is looking to build her lifestyle brand and create a platform for her followers to benefit from her experiences and the products that help her.

"The image was a clear message to say she's stressed but she's using a patch to help her. Her brand is very strong so I think that this is a good way to go, with partnerships."

The patches cost $80 (£63) for a pack of 20, or $400 (£315) for a pack of 100. Users are instructed to place one disc three-finger lengths away from the edge of their left wrist and warned not to place it on their right. It can then be left in place for the day and throughout the night too.

The NuCalm support centre likens the disc to a "battery". It urges the user to think of the disc like a battery, adding: "A battery contains a charge; once it touches a metal contact, that device begins pulling energy from it. Similarly, the disc contains signalling to activate the GABAergic system; once it touches your skin, your body begins pulling frequencies from it."

A video on the site claims that the patches use vibration frequency to send signals to the brain "like a tuning fork", with the cells in the brain then oscillating at the same frequency which is embedded. It is claimed by the site that the discs are embedded with electromagnetic frequencies "specific to natural elements within our bodies".

It comes as mum-of-two Meghan has faced a number of setbacks this summer. In June, Spotify announced it would not be renewing its three-year, £15.6million podcast deal with Meghan and husband Harry’s firm, Archewell Audio. Taylor Swift turned down a personal invitation from the former Suits actress, it was claimed, while Spotify boss Bill Simmons reportedly called the Sussexes “f***ing grifters”.

Meghan and Prince Harry, 38, have been dogged by claims their marriage is on the rocks after making just four public appearances together in the past eight months. Sources also claim that relations between Harry, his father King Charles and brother Prince William are still “incredibly strained”.
