Deontay Wilder's coach Malik Scott was forced to eat his words after Anthony Joshua brutally knocked out Robert Helenius.
Joshua had a timid display against Helenius up until the seventh round when he unleashed a huge right hand that knocked out 'The Nordic Nightmare' before he even hit the mat. 'AJ' urged fans to stop heaping so much pressure on him after the fight with UFC legend Conor McGregor, who was ringside for the bout, also defending Joshua by stating that "greatness don't rush".
Scott was taking part in an interview whilst Joshua was fighting and he gave a scathing assessment of the Brit before he landed the knockout blow: "I don’t want to compare what we did to Helenius because as you can see there’s no comparison at all. AJ is thinking and he’s waiting. Helenius is having moments where he’s fainting him and making him miss, and this is an old Helenius. I think it speaks for itself," Scott told Matchroom Boxing.

"He’s overthinking right now. I’m looking forward to January. My prediction still remains that Deontay will knock Joshua out in three or four rounds. AJ is not struggling right now, but in my opinion is he looking good? No. His eyes are swelling up, he’s got a busted nose, this is not good business.”

Scott's eyes then lit up in round seven when Joshua floored Helenius as the coach said: "Woah, woah. Yes AJ, f****ng hell. January baby. What round was it? He clipped him cold. He got right out of the ring, look at him! It was cool, it was cool.
"It should’ve been done like that, but it was good. That's what's up man. Well f*** man, January is on, him and Deontay they both iced Helenius now. I believe Deontay knocks him out in three or four rounds and I can't wait.

The trainer applauded Joshua for his winSaudi Arabia representatives were in attendance for Joshua's win as they look to host a highly-anticipated clash with Wilder in January. The fight was originally being planned for the end of the year on the same card as Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk, but the undisputed heavyweight title clash fell through and Fury will now face former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a crossover bout.
Scott added of the fight: "Deontay has been ready to fight AJ for the last three or four years, but the talk has been more heavier now than they've ever been. I've got to back and look at the tapes,
"AJ wasn't really looking that impressive to me before the knockout. I'm happy that he got it because we're about to do some big business, let's get it done!"
