David Beckham debuts dramatic new hairdo after getting 'bored' of old style
David Beckham debuted a dramatic new hairdo on social media this weekend, giving fans serious flashbacks to the his iconic 2000s style.
The renowned football star took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo of his freshly shaved head on on his Stories, just days after sending an inspiring message to the Lionesses ahead of the Women's World Cup. In the up-close selfie, David is staring directly at the camera while sporting a trimmed beard and a bladed cut.
"Nothing much changes got bored of my hair chop it off," the 48-year-old captioned the photo, which was punctuated with a laughing emoji and appeared to be taken in his bedroom. David, who recently celebrated his 23rd wedding anniversary with Victoria Beckham, has long held a track record for switching up his hair.
The former Real Madrid player has rocked everything from a mohawk to floppy bangs since breaking onto the scene with Manchester United in 1992, proving there's no cut he's afraid to try. David recently spoke out about his history of altering his locks, revealing that he doesn't regret any of his hairdos – bar one.

David wore the tight braids to meet South African president Nelson Mandela in 2003, after a hairdresser friend had suggested he try them out.

"I asked if she could do something with my hair and she said, 'Do you want cornrows?' and I said, 'Yeah. I don’t know what they are. But yeah'. It was painful having them done but I liked them," he recalled. "People ask if I have any regrets about my hairstyles and while I don’t regret any of them, I do sort of regret the cornrows."
David went on to admit he especially laments his decision to wear cornrows to meet Nelson Mandela in May 2003 ahead of England's friendly game in Durban. "I had them put in on the Saturday and on the Monday I flew to South Africa with the England team for a match.

Earlier this week, David's middle son Romeo also revealed he'd shaved off his brown locks. The 20-year-old shared a selfie of his new do on Instagram, which he acknowledges was directly influenced by his famous father's style. "Helping me bring back dad's buzz," the Brentford B player captioned the snap. Romeo's daring new look quickly received the approval of David, who reshared the post with the comment, "Looking good."
