Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have a tense relationship

Kate Middleton is said to be furious with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "damaged" the Royal Family with their Oprah Winfrey interview.

Harry and Meghan were interviewed by the iconic TV host back in 2021 following their decision to step back from The Firm. During the bombshell chat, Harry admitted to feeling "let down" by his father King Charles while Meghan accused Kate of making her cry.

Following reports Meghan made the Princess of Wales cry during a bridesmaid dress fitting before her 2018 wedding, Meghan claimed it was actually the other way around. Kate is said to have told Meghan there was a "problem" with her daughter Princess Charlotte's dress. She's then alleged to have said all of the bridesmaid dresses needed to be "completely remade."

Kate Middleton feels it's the "ultimate betrayal" (PA)

A source has now said Kate thought of these claims as the "ultimate betrayal". They say that she can "never forgive" Meghan for her dramatic claims.

"Kate has drawn a hard line in the sand — she's not changing her mind about them. They never apologised for their lies. But it's harder for William because Harry is his brother. It's a horrible situation all around," the source revealed.

Harry has grown apart from his brother Prince William, with the Duke of Sussex even claiming in his memoir Spare to have been left terrified after William allegedly screamed at him during the Sandringham Summit. The source said despite this, William hopes to "extend an olive branch to Harry".

They added: "But Kate feels that Harry and especially Meghan have done enough damage to the royal family, and will do even more damage if they're let back in."

Speaking to OK! magazine, the source said Kate was far from happy when her husband said he wants to make amends with his brother. "She was incensed, and she and William got into a big fight. She'll never forgive Meghan for what she did," they claimed.

Another source has said Meghan feels unhappy with the ways in which Kate and William are perceived by the public following the wedding incident. They said: "Meghan feels they've never been held accountable for the way they treated her when she was part of the royals, have never apologised and have seemingly got away with it."

The source told Closer Magazine: "Meghan knows the truth and will tell anyone who will listen that Kate had an edge to her."
