Emily Atack has admitted that she would "cry herself to sleep out" out of loneliness as she opened up about her dating life following her whirlwind romance with Big Brother Liam McGough.
While Emily has had a string of brief romances, the 33-year-old's most recent long-term relationship was with the 38-year-old former reality TV show star and tree surgeon, whom she dated for seven months. The couple decided to go their separate ways in October 2022 after reportedly realising that they are “better off as friends."
The actress and comedienne has previously dated comedian Seann Walsh, model Jude Taylor, and been linked to Manchester City and England footballer Jack Grealish. Despite not being afraid to be on her own - Emily says she would sometimes find being single "miserable".
She also confessed that her low self-esteem would often negatively affect her relationships. She told the publication: "People think I fly the flag for all the single ladies, but I’m not afraid to admit being on your own is miserable a lot of the time. It’s pretty hard.
"There are times when I go out and I feel confident and sexy on my own and I’m independent. 'But there are times when I cry myself to sleep because it’s lonely and awful, and it’s OK to admit that, I think."

And then the second that I’m in love, I’m absolutely pathetic. I go from being confident to being like, ‘Just have everything’, and that’s not on them, that’s all on me. That’s a lack of self care and self love. I have mountains and buckets of confidence but no self-esteem.'
Emily added she finds it difficult not to "lose herself" when she falls in love. She continued: “This is where I am at the moment — I’m too much of a romantic, it’s actually ruining my life. Where I go wrong in life is that I’m known as confident, sexy and all those things, and that’s all great. And then the second that I’m in love, I’m absolutely pathetic.”
She once turned to celebrity dating app Raya in her ongoing search for love - where she reportedly exchanged messages with Jack Grealish. The pair were dogged by rumours of a romance for weeks, and the fling ended abruptly after Emily allegedly gave Jack an ultimatum after finding out he wasn’t single.
The Inbetweeners star was left heartbroken when the 27-year-old footballer rekindled his romance with his childhood sweetheart. While she’s never commented directly on the relationship, Emily did hint at her tumultuous love life as she said she tries to “stay away from things that aren’t good for me.”
