Mark Wright has updated his followers on the ongoing renovations at his and wife Michelle Keegan's £3.5m mansion in Essex.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star has been documenting the huge project on social media, as the property underwent a total transformation when the couple decided to build their dream home from scratch more than 12 months ago.

Over the last year, big improvements have happened on site, and the Essex property now boasts extensive manicured gardens, as well as luxury interiors, a swish kitchen, and a modern white stone terrace.

Now, Mark has revealed work on the garden is almost complete, and explained to his 1.8 million followers on Instagram that bad weather meant the pool completion date was postponed.

“‘Cause of the constant rain, the grass is doing exceptionally well, but it means the pool had to come to a halt because we couldn't obviously tile - they wouldn't stick while it was full up on water. There was like two inches of water. we have drained it all out today,” he said in a video on Instagram Stories.

As he filmed workmen tiling the pristine white swimming pool, Mark revealed he and Michelle had opted for an unusual design, which featured an elongated shallow end with built in sunloungers, to enable their pet dogs to swim safely in the pool.

“The reason why we have done a big deep top step is because it's almost like a little kids pool... Dogs, the kids can paddle around in it and we can sit on top of here... Love the design,” he said.

He continued to film the workmen around the pool and gardens throughout the day, and even offered them sandwiches and orange juice to keep them cool in the warm sun, as well as giving them words of encouragement.

Mark praised the tradesmen for delivering a “spotless” looking pool, and said he was excited to finally take a dip, but first, the patio and surrounding area needed a good clean after the run of bad weather had left his windows mucky.

“These windows definitely needed a clean. It's been a while,” he began. “Appreciation post. These boys @primexcleaning work hard. Getting the @homehubgroup windows clean too.”

Mark and his former Corrie star wife Michelle bought the Essex property in October 2019 for £1.3 million, and moved in last September after gruelling renovation work on the inside of the mansion was completed.
