Linda Haynes, born Linda Lee Sylvander died peacefully at her home earlier this year, her family have confirmed.
The actress died on July 17, aged 75 in Summerville, South Carolina. Linda was also known for starring in films Coffy and The Nickel Ride.
"It is with great sadness that I report my mother, Linda Haynes Sylvander, has passed away, peacefully at home," her son Greg Sylvander wrote on Twitter. "We are going to miss my mom immensely."
The Rolling Thunder star was born in Miami, Florida on November, 4, 1947 and was a life member of The Actor's Studio.
Linda's first feature film was a 1969 Japanese sci-fi monster movie called Latitude Zero before subsequently going on to star in 1973's Coffy, 1974's The Nickel Ride, and 1977's Rolling Thunder, in which she portrayed a distressed barmaid. She later starred in Human Experiments, a film about incarcerated women in 1979.

Renowned director Quentin Tarantino once raved about her talent as he said: "THE performance of the film for me is Linda Haynes as Linda Forchet! She was in one of the sleepers for the first QT fest THE NICKEL RIDE, she was in Pam Grier’s COFFY… she was the girl that reaches into Grier’s afro when she has the razors in there and 'aaaahhhh.' But Linda Forchet is my favorite female character in a Paul Schrader movie. She has that look that Ava Gardner got, you know blousey, but it took Ava years to do it, and Linda Haynes just did it naturally. And I mean that in a good way."
The actress is survived by her son Gregory Leif Sylvander, her daughter-in-law, Courtney Lynn Sylvander, and grandchildren James Riley Sylvander and Amelia Grace Sylvander.
