Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flannagan's love life has made headlines again after the ex-soap actress made a candid admission about her past relationship with footballer Scott Sinclair.
The I'm A Celeb star, 33, emotionally opened up about her 13-year relationship with the Bristol Rovers winger, 34, and shared the reason why she continues to wear her engagement ring on her finger. The actress was just 19 years old when she and Scott became an item in 2009.
Helen and Scott got engaged in May 2018 - but in October 2022 - the couple announced they had decided to go their separate ways. The pair share three children together - daughters Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and their son Charlie, two.
The former reality star has now shared that she wears the ring on her right hand, rather than on her wedding finger, as it symbolises "her journey." She said: “I still wear my engagement ring and Nana’s wedding ring because I love it. I wear it on the other hand. It’s part of my journey - also it took him [Scott] bloody long enough to put it on my finger. Typical Scott!”
“I remember being like ‘when is he going to propose?’ I remember I was an absolutely psycho about it. I was like ‘this is our 2nd child, where’s my ring?’ Honestly, so yes, I’m not taking it off my finger.”

Helen was in a relationship with Scott Sinclair for 13 years (Instagram)In February 2023, it was reported that Helen had joined celeb dating app Raya. At the time, a source told The Sun: “Helen has been feeling more and more positive about the future since the new year and feels ready to enjoy some nice dates and male company. She’s feeling super-confident since her boob job and just thought why not?
“Helen and the kids were having a great weekend in Paris and she felt ready to dip her toe back in the water. Dating doesn’t have to be serious — it’s not about finding a rebound relationship. Helen just wants to enjoy life again. Obviously, it’s not nice for Scott to hear. He feels humiliated but it is what it is.”
A year on from her break-up, Helen has hinted that she has dipped her toes back into the dating pool - and admitted there is currently a special someone in her life.
She confessed: “I don’t think I’m ready to talk about dating - I will at some point, not at the moment – but I did find someone who was really kind to me and we’re really good friends still. He made me feel beautiful and special, which was nice. It’s really important who you choose to spend your time with.”
