EastEnders viewers predict huge twist in dramatic Sonia and Reiss IVF storyline
EastEnders' characters Sonia and Reiss are hoping to become parents to their own child but fans believe he has an alternative motive.
The couple have been in a relationship for a year but recently, viewers saw Sonia believe she was pregnant after missing her period. However, after some confusion and arguments, Reiss, revealed to Sonia that he was unable to have children.
But most recently, Reiss and Sonia explored the option of IVF, which they both agreed to go ahead with. But after initially believing they were unable to afford the treatment, Reiss revealed that he'd come into some cash which his mum had apparently been saving for him.
EastEnders viewers have predicted a brutal twist for Sonia and Reiss (BBC)During a discussion with his girlfriend, he explained his mum had been saving money every year, adding more for his birthday and around Christmas. Reiss went on to say that he managed to access his account after two hours of trying and was stunned to realise there was a whopping £24,000 in the bank.
As the episode continued, Reiss told Sonia that he had enough money for up to four rounds of IVF treatment which would enable them to try starting for their own baby. In a shocking twist, it emerged that the large sum of money was in a bank account belonging to Deborah But viewers are also reminded that his wife, Deborah (Debbie) is currently living in a care home having suffered a stroke while in the bath a while back.

Reiss' wife Deborah is currently in a coma (BBC)Debbie is currently unable to communicate and move due to being in a coma, despite this, Reiss visits her on occasions but it is not clear whether she will recover. But as Sonia and Reiss start to look towards the future, many fans believe there is a brutal twist in store for Walford's resident nurse.
Taking to an EastEnders forum, one viewer penned: "I think Debbie will wake up and find out Sonia is pregnant." As a second added: "Could he be getting Sonia to be a surrogate without her knowing?"
"It seems all of a sudden," commented a third before continuing: "What if instead of it being Sonia's egg they use, he tricks them into using one of Debbies." "I think Debbie is in on it, I reckon it's all a set-up," typed a fourth.
Many viewers believe that Reiss could be able to con Sonia (BBC)Meanwhile, another wrote: "Maybe Reiss is getting Sonia to have a baby and maybe he is hoping his wife wakes up so they can have the baby. If not, something isn't right, one minute he was so not wanting children and the next he suggests IVF, something doesn't seem right."
Many viewers are also convinced that Debbie is actually Whitney's biological mum. Earlier this week, the market trader and her boyfriend Zack discussed fostering, as they had both been through the care system when Whitney disclosed the identity of her birth mum.
"I don't think Debbie is his wife. Reiss is a conman, a coincidence that she could be Whitney's mum," said one. Before a second wrote: "Another page thought that Debbie could be Whitney's mum!"
