Footage shows the terrifying moment people lounging at a popular beach spotted sharks lurking in the water nearby.

Two of the deadly creatures were seen off Daytona Beach in Florida, close to the famed spring break destination. Their distinct fins could be seen amid the surf just yards from dry land.

Thankfully no one was seen in the water at the time and there were no attacks reported.

This came days after a woman was attacked by a shark while celebrating her friend's birthday in "the perfect cocktail for the perfect storm."

Natalie Branda was left with a gruesome bite mark that needed 14 stitches after the attack off Florida's Gulf Coast. The 26-year-old was swimming in murky water near St Pete's Pier near St Petersburg when she felt a 'pressure' on her leg. “I just felt pressure, and it released, and I was like: "I got bit!'” she told Fox 13 Tampa Bay. “I swam the fastest I ever swam to the boat.”

After climbing back onto the boat, her friends were horrified to see the injury on Natalie's stomach. Her friends frantically performed First Aid while they rushed back to the dock. She couldn't see the wound and her friends kept trying to reassure her "It's not that bad."

But Natalie recalled: “Then I turned around and everyone was like: ‘Oh, my God.'" Emergency doctors confirmed it was a shark bite. Her friend Allie Mucks told Fox: “It’s not very common that people experience that and walk away with just some stitches."

The incident hasn't put Natalie off swimming but she has vowed to take better precautions next time. She said: “I don’t know if I’ll do what we did last time. The water was kind of murky. It was the perfect cocktail for the perfect storm. We are invading their home. It sucks that this happened, but when you’re entering and being with large creatures in their home, you have to respect them. I’ll probably get back in the water, but I need to recover first.”

This came just days after another shark attack in Florida. Brandon Boncore was bitting in the waters of New Smyrna Beach, somewhere he has surfed hundreds of times "I felt it, and I was just like, 'Oh cr*p, not me,'" he told Click Orlando.

It was not the first time the 22-year-old had seen the predators swimming at the beach, but he'd managed to escape the painful jab of their jaws until Monday. As he surfed that day, he eventually saw several near him as he caught his first wave.

"In New Smyrna, that's kind of normal," he said. The beach is known as the "shark bite capital of the world." But the sharks left him to his own devices. It was as he paddled back to shore, however, that he encountered the monster that bit him in the foot. He landed right on top of it, he said, and it attacked — a result of him accidentally provoking it.

"It bit me right in the foot, and I just took my right foot and kicked it off," he said. "I jumped on my board and looked back, and the first thing I thought was, 'Oh, thank God. My toe's there."

He's set to make a full recovery but needs to stay off his foot for a month. The experience of getting bitten by a shark isn't what you'd think, Boncore said. It was just a lot of pressure on his foot, he said and wasn't the intensely painful experience he thought it would be — though it still hurt.
