Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he's unsure over how close Harry Kane is to joining Bayern Munich after Friday morning saw the transfer saga descend into chaos.
Tottenham insist that they've given Kane, 30, permission to fly to Munich but there are counter claims which say that the Spurs striker is waiting in England until the deal is finalised. Tuchel was asked about the confusion at a press conference in Munich.
"You probably know more than me on where he is and what he's doing!" the Bayern manager told journalists. "We're working on it, that's no secret - but as long as there's no decision, I can't say anything."
Tuchel then refused to rule out the possibility of Kane being in Bayern's squad for their German Super Cup clash with RB Leipzig on Saturday. The match takes place in Munich at 7:45pm BST.
Late on Thursday evening, Tottenham reluctantly accepted an initial £86million fee for Kane after weeks of fraught negotiations with Bayern, who reminded confident that he'd agree to join them should a transfer deal be agreed. Spurs then gave permission for the England captain to fly to Munich on Friday morning, only for the move to hit a snag.

It was reported that the Premier League side weren't fully satisfied with the finer details of the deal. Tottenham then responded by insisting that they indeed were allowing Kane to jet off to Germany, but it's understood that the 30-year-old is yet to embark on his hotly-anticipated journey.

What's potentially preventing the mega-money deal from being completed is how Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is currently in the United States and working on a different time zone. Levy is desperate to keep hold of Kane but knows that should he refuse to sell him this summer, Tottenham's talisman will be free to walk away next summer when his current deal expires.
Kane has been offered a lucrative new contract but has shown no intention of recommitting his future to the club he's been at for the past 19 years. Instead, he expressed his desire to join the German giants to go in search of winning the first silverware of his trophy-less career.
Honorary Bayern president Uli Hoeness vowing in an interview with Sport1, as quoted by Sky Sports: "Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands - and if he keeps to his word, then we'll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle."
