When you're in a relationship, it's important to respect your partner's privacy. Things like going through your partner's phone messages are definitely frowned upon - but sometimes you might stumble on something by accident that you just can't ignore.

One woman couldn't believe her eyes when she accidentally stumbled upon her husband's internet search history, which had popped up on the family iPad, which was synced to his Apple ID. No doubt hoping she'd see things like 'where to buy the most beautiful flowers' or 'best date night restaurants', she was horrified to find out he had searched for prostitutes in his local area - and eventually she confronted him about it.

The anonymous woman took to the online Babycentre forum to ask whether she had cause to be concerned, and explained that the first incident had happened 12 months ago, when her husband had been working away. She had brought it up with him, and he claimed that he was curious as to how you would go about finding them.

In the recent post, she continued: "Then he was away again and searched for 'adult work'. Now he's been away abroad and searched for 'best Thai massage' [and] says he has [a] bad back and just looking for massage? But what's your opinion? I feel like I'm having the wool pulled over my eyes. I don't actually believe he has been unfaithful….YET!"

She added that her husband "totally gaslights" her when she brings it up, saying that she's "insecure", and that he "hasn't done anything wrong". She continued: "We have two very small children together. And whilst he's away I'm looking after them and making sure there's enough food in the house and it's nice and tidy for when he gets back. Like a mug it would seem."

Fellow parents in the comment section said they would also be concerned if they were in the same situation. One person added: "It would be enough for me lose respect for my partner, and I suspect I'd feel paranoid and not trust him. I'm not automatically saying you should end the relationship and leave, but if this were me I think I'd see it as an indicator that it's the beginning of the end... If he's not happy and is trying to find it elsewhere then he will do just that eventually."

Another added: "I wouldn't have forgiven him searching for prostitutes in the first place. But I also wouldn't be in a relationship where there is no trust and a partner looking up my search history."
