After an off season full of praise and plaudits, Aaron Rodgers may be concerned following the latest reports from New York Jets training camp.

The veteran quarterback is getting ready for his first season with the Jets after a trade from the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers had previously spent his entire 18-year NFL career at Lambeau Field before making the switch to the MetLife Stadium.

Rodgers will be linking up with Jets head coach Robert Saleh to challenge for the post-season in his first year with the franchise. However, there are concerns emerging from the latest training camp practice.

According to , during the Wednesday practice session, Rodgers was sacked twice due to a lack of protection from his offensive line. It was claimed in the report that pass protection was “an issue all day” for Rodgers and the Jets.

The Jets were in a joint training camp with the Carolina Panthers, and it has been reported that Carolina linebacker Brian Burns made it difficult for Rodgers to get passes away, with Jets left tackle Max Mitchell also struggling. But there was also good news in the report.

Rodgers reportedly finished the session 11-14 in pass competitions, which was described as “not a bad day” for the 39-year-old. His teammate, Allen Lazard, also had a good day with the report saying the wide receiver achieved three pass receptions with one touchdown catch during an 11v11 session.

Lazard was one of many players to follow Rodgers in leaving Green Bay and sign for the Jets. He was joined by fellow receiver Randall Cobb and safety Adrian Amos, while Billy Turner and Tim Boyle were reunited with Rodgers after previously playing alongside the quarterback in Wisconsin.

Rodgers and Co are preparing for the final stages of pre-season training ahead of the 2023 NFL regular season. Rodgers did not participate in the Hall of Fame game against the Cleveland Browns on August 3.

The Jets still have three pre-season games remaining in their run-in ahead of the start to the season. The Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Giants are the friendly opponents later this month.

It remains to be seen how much Rodgers will play during those three games. Saleh has stated previously that it’s likely that it will only be the game against the Giants that the veteran QB could take to the field.

All of this is the build-up to the Week One opener against AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills The Jets finished the 2022 season 7-10 and fourth in their division, which saw the team miss out on the play-offs.
