Bobby Brazier's incredible career after childhood heartache as he joins Strictly
Ever since Bobby Brazier was confirmed to star in Strictly Come Dancing 2023, fans of the glitzy BBC One reality show have been desperate to know everything there is to know about the English model-turned-actor.
Bobby is best known as the son of Big Brother star Jade Goody, who died of cervical cancer in 2009 when he was just five years old.
After the death of his mother, he and his younger brother Freddie were raised by their dad Jeffrey outside of the spotlight. Bobby would return to the public eye, however, after a chance encounter at the age of 16 led him to be scouted by a model agent. Now 20, the Gen Z youngster has already shown serious promise as a rising star in the entertainment industry. Not only has Bobby walked for multiple shows at London Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, he has also appeared in photoshoots for magazines like Man About Town and Schon. He was even cast in Dolce & Gabbana's show in Milan at the age of 17, an opportunity he later described as a 'dream come true.'

His impressive portfolio quickly put him on the radar of showbiz execs, leading him to be cast as Freddie Slater in the BBC One soap, EastEnders. Speaking on Good Morning Britain in 2022, Bobby admitted to feeling apprehensive about his debut acting gig.

"There were nerves, but everybody made me so comfortable right away, literally from the first scene," he said, before revealing that his father Jeff had not given him any advice on his new career. "He's happy that I'm working consistently and earning and paying rent."
Bobby has since wowed critics and viewers alike with his portrayal of Little Mo's son in the long running soap opera, and has been longlisted for Rising Star at the 28th National Television Awards.

Why wouldn't she be?" He also claimed that being part of the fictional Slater family "feels like home", and that it's "not too different" to his own clan.
In another interview with The Times, Bobby admitted he doesn't remember a 'whole lot' about his mother. Neither he nor his brother Freddie attended the Jade's funeral due their young age and the media scrutiny on the event.
"I guess I know my mum through other people’s memories of my mum,” he said. "Maybe memories of memories. I’m always being told about her and what she meant to people."
Speaking about his upcoming appearance on Strictly, Bobby said he's "so excited" to be part of its 21st series. A start date for the new season has yet to be confirmed, but it's expected to premiere in mid-September.
"I can’t wait to start training like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my locker," Bobby added. "I'm looking forward to performing in front of everyone, it's going to be so much fun!"
