After spending months planning every detail of your wedding, it's only natural that you'd expect everything to go off without a hitch on the actual day of the ceremony, with all your loved ones gathered around to watch you tie the knot with the person who means the most to you. But one bride was left seething when her first few days of married life didn't exactly go to plan - after her husband confessed something shocking about their wedding photographer.

The newlywed woman was baffled when her husband told her he'd slept with the photographer "at some point after the wedding", and his admission left their marriage in shambles. Now, the woman is trying to get a refund from the photography studio she hired for the event - but is receiving pushback from the lead photographer.

In a post on Reddit, the photographer explained that he always brings a "second shooter" with him to capture weddings, but when his usual partner wasn't available, he hired a woman he found online who seemed to do "good work". It was this private contractor who then slept with the groom, rather than someone fully employed by the photography studio, so the main photographer doesn't feel as though he needs to refund the couple.

He wrote: "Earlier this summer I shot a wedding. My typical second shooter couldn't make it, so I found someone else online who I felt did good work. Anyways she and I did the wedding, and everything seemed business as usual. Photos were edited, and delivered to the client, all was good.

"Then this morning I got an email from the bride. She was wanting a refund because the lady I had hired as a second shooter for the day ended up sleeping with her husband at some point after the wedding, and she also included photos from his phone to prove it. I haven't responded yet, but what's the best thing to do here? She hired me for a job and the job was completed and the product was delivered. But I also feel like this would be as if I were a professional dog walker who walked a client's dog, and then came back and shot it later.

"Of course, the second shooter is considered a private contractor and not an employee ... Anyways what is the best thing to do here? I really feel for this lady, but that's also a lot of money to have to give back for work that was done."

Commenters on the post urged the photographer not to give the woman a refund, as although the situation must be awful for her, the job was completed and the snapper responsible was not employed by the photography studio. One person said: "Tell them you are sorry to hear that but there isn't a way for you to refund for a service that has been completed per your contract. The second shooter is a contractor who I will not work with again but she is not directly involved with my business. I can not refund you because something unfortunate happened that I had no control over."

And another posted: "This sounds harsh, but her husband was going to cheat on her regardless of who your second shooter was. It's not your fault that she married him," while a third wrote: "This happened after the wedding, correct? If so, it has nothing to do with you or the service your business provided."
