This Morning's Craig fights tears as he discusses Sinead O'Connor's funeral
An emotional Craig Doyle had to fight back his tears as he discussed Sinead O'Connor's funeral as he presented This Morning today.
The presenter appeared upset as his eyes filled with tears when he, alongside Josie Gibson, talked about the Nothing Compares 2 U singer's funeral, which took place yesterday. The Irish presenter revealed that his family live near Bray, where the singer was laid to rest.
Sinead was found dead at her flat in South East London on July 26, aged just 56. Craig explained that thousands of people lined the streets to say their farewells, with Matthew Wright also getting emotional. As they paid tribute to the singer, Craig said: "An incredible talent, but she used it to say things that other people were scared to say, she spoke out when the church was quiet in Ireland, when the politicians were quiet in Ireland.

Sinead was buried in Bray on Tuesday after mourners were invited to line the streets. After a private funeral attended by Bob Geldof and U2 star Bono her cortege travelled along Bray seafront. Those who came to watch threw flowers on the hearse carrying Sinead's coffin while a Volkswagen camper van following the procession played her music. People clapped as the cortege paused at her former home where she lived for 15 years.

Police were called to Sinead's London apartment on the morning of July 26 following reports of an unresponsive woman. She was declared dead at the scene shortly after. No cause has been given for her death, which is not being treated as suspicious by police. The singer's death came just 18 months after her 17-year-old son Shane took his own life. A post-mortem examination report may not be received for some time, and London Inner South Coroner's Court confirmed it will decide whether to open an inquest following the results and submissions from relatives.
Sinead first found fame back in 1990 with her ballad Nothing Compares 2 U, and is survived by three children, Jake, Roisin and Yeshua.
