West Ham reach £30m transfer agreement with Man Utd to sign Harry Maguire
West Ham have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester United for the £30million transfer of Harry Maguire.
The Hammers made the £30m bid for the England international defender on Monday and the Red Devils have finally accepted the offer. David Moyes is keen to strengthen his side after the departure of midfielder Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal in a deal worth £105m.
Maguire is also desperate to revive his career after falling out of favour at Old Trafford under manager Erik ten Hag. The centre-back was United captain until the start of this season but was unceremoniously stripped of the armband.
Bruno Fernandes was made captain in the defender's place, with Maguire taking to social media to reveal his disappointment. He wrote: "After discussions with the manager today he has informed me he is changing captain.
"He outlined his reasons to me and whilst I'm personally extremely disappointed, I will continue to give my all every time I wear the shirt.

"So I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Manchester United fans for all their brilliant support whilst I’ve been wearing the armband."
Man United signed Lisandro Martinez last season, with the centre-back cementing a permanent place in Ten Hag's back four alongside Raphael Varane.

Ten Hag suggested there is still a place for Maguire at Man United, admitting the Englishman was disappointed at losing the armband.
"I think everyone can understand that for a player it's a disappointment but it can work out very good for the team and for Harry," he said. "He's an important player, we need four centre-backs minimum you have seen last season we play so many games and we are really pleased to have Harry in our squad."
West Ham are cash rich after selling Rice to Arsenal and Moyes wants to reinvest the money in new recruits now that the start of the season is fast approaching.
