Jeremy Clarkson has branded setting personal targets as "the most stupid thing ever" saying he's "never had an ambition in his life".
Appearing alongside his Clarkson's Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper on Performance People Podcast he admitted he made the farm show simply because he was "contractually obliged" to do a solo show.
Clarkson, who last year was the focus of a media frenzy after his controversial comments over Meghan Markle, said they considered lots of areas, including "jet skiing out of helicopters"but the farm appealed to him as he "wouldn't have to go anywhere".
Explaining his take further: "If you have an ambition, you either achieve that goal, in which case so what - then what are you going to do? Or you don't, in which case life's going to be full of disappointment."

And not letting Clarkson off the hook the podcasters probed where Clarkson's motivation comes from for the farm.
The Grand Tour star added: "Motivation comes from... I would like to make it profitable. It's not really an ambition. It's editorial interesting."

But despite Clarkson claiming he has no ambition, Kaleb says he's still offered "great advice" and encouraged him to steer clear of endorsement deals, saying you loose "credibility".
Sitting firmly on the other side of the 'metaphorical table' Kaleb, and with youth on his side, has a clear ambition to own his own farm so he can make his own decisions over its running.
Viewers of Clarkson's farm have seen Kaleb tasked with casting a watchful eye over the former Top Gear host's farming which has left him frustrated on many occasion much to the amusement of those back home.

But he will have to the "win hearts and minds" of his neighbours to get backing for the council to decided on planning permission for the lambing sheds transformation.
The plans come as Clarkson faced backlash for his comments in December on Meghan Markle.
In a lengthy statement posted to his official Instagram, Clarkson says, “I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. It’s a mea culpa with bells on.”
