Emmerdale Gabby Thomas star Rosie Betntham has jetted off on holiday after confirming her exit from the ITV soap. The 22-year-old actress took to Instagram to share that she is heading off to sunny Portugal with co-star Daisy Arwen Campbell.
It comes after Rosie spoke out about her decision to take a break from the soap after she first stepped into her role in 2016. In recent episodes, Gabby has been at the centre of huge storylines, and most recently was left devastated after she discovered her fiancé Nicky was gay and using her to get an in at Home Farm.
After being left at the alter, Gabby made a move on an unsuspecting Billy Fletcher once she confided in him about her heartbreak. But when she leaned in for a kiss, a horrified Billy immediately rejected her advances. Speaking out about her decision, Rosie admitted Gabby has been left with no choice but to leave the village for a short while after her world was flipped upside down.

She’s completely lost; I just picture Gabby waking up in the morning and feeling like her life is chaos. Obviously, there’s the anniversary of Liv Dingle’s death on the horizon, and that’s difficult for Gabby, as Liv was her best mate.”
She added: "She needs to reset. Heartbreak can be long and tedious but she knows that she needs to get it all out. The tears need to come. Hopefully, she’ll come back with a different head-on with regards to the Nicky situation," but it looks like it won't be plain sailing as Rosie added: "Gabby has a lot on her plate and the next few months are chaotic."

Some fans of the soap were convinced that Gabby would become embroiled in a passionate affair with Billy after he reconsiders her affection for him.
One viewer said: "Let me guess she has a one-night stand with Billy. then gets pregnant and has a baby a few months after dawn.
A second fan said: "The seeds are now sown for Gabby and Billy to have an affair. It's certain." Whilst a third person penned: "I knew Billy would back out of telling Dawn about Gabby trying to kiss him. #Emmerdale."
